Greetins Brothers, Sisters, Xenos and Heretics,

I recently purchased a patriot 105 airbrush and a compressor. I've never used an airbrush before, so I have a lot to learn.

I put a second coat on my drop pod, and I put it on a little too heavy, so the paint ran a bit in some spots. It also turned a white-yellow colour in some of the places it settled (supposed to be green).

Why would it turn white-yellow, and what am I doing that would cause this? Maybe my pressure is set wrong or I'm not thinning my paint correctly?

Any insight or advice is much appreciated!

Thanks,

-Criggillonius

In the future, I will paint the interior and each of the exterior pieces separately before I glue them together.

Flooding a surface is a mistake which you can try to recover by using either only air from the airbrush to push the paint away or soak it up with a tissue.

Paint chaning color should be down to the paint you used or mixed. Generally speaking, you have an easier time with paints that come with thinner consistency for airbrush use. Still you'll want to thin those with thinner or flow improver that matches the paint.

I usually use the Airbrush with a couple normal brushes right next to me with water so if i overspray or flood i can use them to draw the paint up or thin it so much with the water that it doesnt matter.

Welcome to using an airbrush!!!

First off, more thin coats is always better than one thick one with an airbrush.

I would say practice practice practice!! You will get better with experience, and its a lot of fun.

Also, watch some various airbrush videos on youtube.
