Looking to paint my harlequins and a black and white scheme. should I base them black or base them white or should I base them grey?

Just trying to figure out if it's easier to paint white on black or black on white or both on Grey.

Try zenithal highlighting. Base black, then spray a neutral grey down on it at a 45 degree angle, then spray white from directly overhead.

That way (for the whites at least) the area on top will be brighter, and the area underneath will be darker. Done right it should provide a nice transition.

CHAOS! PANIC! DISORDER!
My job here is done.
