I've got a quick question about the newfangled flying bases they supply with the overlord ship kits. The top is a little ball joint right. Does that mean that once the ship is put onto it, it can't be taken off? I thought it would be wise to check this first before I make a move.

The ball joint for the flying base is more like a rounded peg than an actual ball joint. It allows for some movement but comes off quite easily.
I do have concerns about longevity of these but they seem more robust than earlier iterations from GW. That said, I still pinned mine for extra strength.
