Title pretty much says it all. I hardly ever see armies in orange, and despite my usual dislike for the Imperium...well, I'm a sucker for the Primaris marine models. I've managed to throw together a conceptual image using the template that was released, and I wanted to get my fellow Dakkanauts' input! I can provide the PSD file on request, if anyone wants to try some edits themselves.

I liked the orange and white better personally, looked like Home Depot marines, the gold and orange looks off, probably too much with the yellow side of the color wheel.

You mean the shoulderpads? Hmm. I may mess with it a bit more, do a test and see which looks better on an actual model. I'll do one shoulder one way, the other the other way. See how it looks on an actual figure.

Also, I'm half-tempted to swap the main color from Troll Slayer Orange to Jokaero Orange. Any thoughts?

EDIT: Oooor I could do the orange for tacticals, and white/gold for Sergeants and above...hmm.

Be nice to see something different, do some test models and see how it looks!

The White/Gold for Officers is a good idea. Perhaps even Veterans (If Primaris have such...)?

Just be careful your not confused with the Sons of Orar chapter, which have a really nice striking Red & White Colour scheme.

Being masrines, you can always swap around the should pads with different sub-schemed that will have different unit designation meanings, so you've got a lot of freedom there. I'd suggest working out some ideas and then trying them on some test models - especially if you can get hold of any cheaper, starter set non-Primaris models...

As nice as the mew models, I've quickly discovered a couple of things that GW is still doing that really grinds my gears:

1: Putting sprue attachment points in recessed detail or on round surfaces (like the tops of the side vents on Astartes backpacks)
2: Putting mold lines across things like shoulderpads instead of just making the shoulderpad separate.

Still, I'm powering through my frustration and Louisiana humidity to try and get the first squad of Intercessors ready for paint. Priming just revealed a few of these flaws, so now I gotta fix those and re-spray, and hope it doesn't fuzz up anymore than it has already. Does anyone out there have any suggestions for primers/spray paints that do well in high-humidity regions?

EDIT: It fuzzed up. Again.

Kepora, try an airbrush or air gun. Aside from compressors, which can run a few bucks, you can also get aerosol cans of compressed air and a simple bottom-feed gun, then use stuff like Vallejo airbrush primer.

Not as easy as using a spray can, but if your local environment is giving you that much grief it may be worth looking into.

Wonderful, i love orange and thought a lot if making a chapter with this colour too in the past days and years before, usually everytime new space marine release lol (it's always funny make and try colour scheme for space marine! about this im really interested in the PSD file if i can ask, thanks!).

So its a pleasure to see this, super approved! Hope to see also the miniatures in the future; i know how frustating can be having primer problems but unfortunately i cant help you with humidity :( . If nothing work you can use non-spray primer colour, uncomfortable for many miniatures but a good solution in this case.
