Hi guys,
I have acquired a couple of armies to play the new ed with (haven't really played before) but don't know what the troops are in a lot of cases (talking mainly space wolves here) and the new index are not helpful in that respect - SO was wondering if there was an online catalogue or similar anywhere. I know I could just look at the GW sales site but want to save the work trolling round for something I don't know the name of.

just do it on their website, your can change the search down to space wolves, infantry and look there. There isn't that many to go through.

Thanks - I was just being lazy on the whole, it is the characters that are a pain to look up as they are spread over pages of generic marine stuff - but doing it at the moment.

You can filter the GW site by unit type or battlefield role. I just selected all the Space Marine armies, then Characters under Bttlefield role and it gave me back 43 results.

That seems to miss a few things, so instead I tried selecting HQ and Elites then selecting every troop type except Vehicles; 109 results, with a few in the wrong category (Iron Priests and Long Fangs under "psyker"?).

You could also try Stuff of Legends, although it might nt have the most recent catalogues (and they're scans of the paper catalogues, so even more time consuming to search than the website).

You can google search the SW characters and see pics of peoples painted mini's, it'll be clear which characters are official models and which are converted/generic HQ's (if you have any of those).
