Hey all. This is my first army list in 8th edition. I'm starting a Savlar Chem Dogs army, and I figured that there wouldn't be a lot of expensive weapons such as plasma guns entrusted to an army of thieves, murderers and worse. But since the Savlar were deployed in the toxic, forgotten tunnels of the hives of Armageddon, it would make sense that the Adeptus Mechanicus would take the chance to plumb the depths of the hives for forgotten technology and knowledge. Therefore I thought that the Adeptus Mechanicus forces could supply some heavy firepower to the force. I don't know if this is terrible or not but I feel like it would be fun to play.

if they are chem dogs i would probably include a 3 tank unit of bane wolfs for fluff reasons

You only have one vox caster, a vox network needs a minimum of two vox casters to function.

Vox-caster: If a friendly officer is within 3" of a unit with a vox-caster when using their voice of command ability, you may extend the range of the order to 18" if the target unit also contains a vox caster.


I'd also switch the Lord Commissar and Company Commander's equipment, as the Lord Commissar is 2+/2+ where the CC is only 3+/3+

Thanks for the suggestions. I will implement them when I get the chance.

Side question: How many Guardsman squads should I pick up? Because with them being so cheap part of me feels like any list with less than like 8+ Infantry Squads is not as good as it could be.

Five guardsmen squads with heavy weapons, and vets in a Chimera with three melta guns has been the infantry I've been using at 1000 pts this edition. I'd not get too much as I find that to much painting backlog just means nothing gets painted.
