Hey guys,

Im strongly thinking about starting a mono-slaanesh army, and maybe include tiny amounts of other gods if it really benefits the list.

Now,

1. which slaaneshi daemons are good/average/bad with the new rules?

2. how does a slaanesh daemon army look like in 8th edition and what does it need?

3. what synergies are there? beyond the obvious ones like heralds buffing daemonettes.

4. what are the proper HQ choices? are the chariot heralds really an auto-include?

has anyone tried the slaaneshy units thus far? even in a normal army, please share your thoughts.

thanks guys

I've been playing mono-Slaanesh since 6th edition and while it was very strong (due mainly to abusing the psychic phase) I really wouldn't recommend that anyone start up such an army if they haven't already. At the very least, wait until the codices proper come out and we get more comprehensive rules.

I'm typing on a tablet and don't feel like going into too much detail, so I'll just say that going mono-God DAEMONS (meaning no CSM mixed in) leaves very little unit variety and thus by extension little strategic depth in list building. That Slaanesh daemons all work in a very similar manner (run up the board and hit stuff) also makes us inflexible on the tabletop. In most matches you're either going to run over an opponent who wasn't prepared for your speed or they're going to slow you down or alpha-strike you hard enough to blow all your squishy Slaanesh models off the table. It's very binary.
