So this list came about by accident when I noticed just how many units I was fielding, so I just modified it to max out my command point generation.

General idea is Drop Troops come down in 2-3 waves, depending on what needs to get hit, 2 units with each Commander. Initially they'll get Take Aim for the plasma then "Move and Fire" next turn, as it makes all weapons assault. Suddenly having multiple S6 Krak 'Grenades' go down your throat is serious business (as Grenade Type becomes Assault Type RAW). Normal Guardsmen hold the back and annoy the enemy with FRFSRF. The Tauros all DS Turn 1 to maximise lascannon positions. Mortars stay hidden and bomb away. Snipers and Sabres lay down fire as needed (I prefer Elysian Snipers to Ratlings: slightly more durable, slightly more firepower as they keep their lasguns, plus you could get them to DS in to take down characters hiding out of LoS). Sabre's Defence Searchlights + OotF Reroll on the Vultures = death. Astropaths add general utility with their DtW, save boosting and cover reduction

The Dark City/Terra

If you are running a pure Forgeworld list, you may want to observe your local scene/tourney scene to see how people feel. List seems pretty good so far, but I don't know if the Officer of the Fleet can use his abilities from the Vultures? He doesn't have any way in his rules (that I have found) that ignores that you can't do anything from within a vehicle, which defeats his purpose if that is the case, Although that is how it's written RAW, which couldn't have been what they meant, because even his profile in Index one is shown as his special officers Valkyrie. I'd like to be proven wrong though, because I have interest in running one for my Vendettas.

Well it's partial FW with mix of normal IG. My local GW store doesn't really see/get FW but he allows it. My local gaming club is full of WAAC/tourney players, never had a problem with my Renegades army

He can't go in the Vulture as they have no transport capacity. He gets to sit between them or DS in. Abilities don't work from inside transports unless stated I believe

This list seems pretty damn brutal. It's got the flexibility to deal with anything and drop loads of troops wherever needed, all for 2k points. I'd love to see it in action.

Oops, thought the Vulture had a 6 man capacity for transport.
Yea, GW needs to resolve this because the OoF sucks without it, there is no way that OoF is going to get 18" away from something like a landraider or knight, or even hormagaunts or boys without getting absolutely lunched. The OoF fluff wise should be able to dictate/cast/order from a flying vessel though.

Yeah it is a bit limiting. I guess dropping abilities inside transports was to stop 'battlebus' shenanigans

I'm thinking I may turn a Brigade into a Battalion. Drop a few Drop Troops for Elysian Vets/Command Squads to load up on more plasma or melta, and have some point left over to buff the ground Infantry (plasma+HBs looks like a reasonable but cheap combo for me,15pts gives you decent anti-MEQ/light armour)
