So among our group we have decided on a mini tournament at the start of the summer before we all go off on our holidays. There are 7 of us (one guy has quit
40k despite our attempts to persuade him otherwise).
Here's what we have decided on:
One Imperium player with 4000pts (Guard)
Two Imperium players with 2000pts each (IK +
DA +
AM and
BA)
Two Xenos players with 2000pts each (Orks and Aeldari)
Two Chaos players with 2000pts each (
CSM + Daemons + Renegades and
CSM + Daemons)
First round will be the Guard VS Orks + Aeldari and the IK +
DA +
AM +
BA VS
CSM + Daemons + Renegades
The next round the two non Imperial teams will switch.
The problem comes with building a narrative around it. Last year we did an apocalypse game on Cadia (RIP) where the objective of the Imperial and Eldar players was to protect scenery that had been marked as Pylons and the Chaos and Ork players had to destroy them. I'm happy to say Chaos was victorious on Cadia. We were thinking of building a narrative around the Fate of Konor but it would seem that the Konor campaign starts about a week after we are scheduled to have our battle. So now I'm stumped. Cadia is
, Baal's
, Terra
, what other systems are there of significance currently under siege? I'm still catching up on the new fluff of 8e so I don't know if there are any other campaigns to build a narrative around.
If anyone would like to help, we first need a system, planet, etc. to fight over, then we're going to come up with some Stratagems and scenarios to go along with the narrative (maybe even make our own objectives like last year). Any ideas would be appreciated (I'm actually quite busy at the moment so putting this campaign together is being a right pain).
Thanks.
