Given the massive buffs to reserve and deep strike, would an elysian army be viable? Essentially going full null deployment, bar a couple of vultures and avengers? And then dropping your 50 ish point 10 man squads wherever the map needs bolstering. Command squads and vets for special weapons etc etc. I like the idea of dropping 100 guard right onto the relic for a little over 500 points. They're also pretty sturdy with morale, having easy access to rerolls and only allowing one to die, regardless of the roll.

Absolutely. You can use flying units to bring the big guns instead of tanks, and your infantry would be purely deep striking Tempestus. So loads of 4+ carapace armor, hot-shot lasguns, and special weapons.

Wake. Rise. Destroy. Conquer.
We have done so once. We will do so again.

You cant null deploy

50% of your units need to be deployed

Only in matched play IIRC.

I wouldn't say better. They don't have hot-shot lasguns, and they don't have 4+ armor. But lacking those things does make them 2 points cheaper. 3 points cheaper for lasgun models actually, because a hot-shot lasgun costs 1 point on its own.

One of their orders make all their weapons Assault, which RaW means they can all throw grenades when under that order.

Huh, that's actually pretty awesome. At first I was thinking "that's a pretty lame replacement for Forward for the Emperor, since FftE doesn't impose a -1 to hit, the Assault rule does." But applying it to grenades? That's actually kind of great.

I highly doubt it's intended. But knowing forge world...

Elysians are the tits. Extremely cost efficient for maximum tactical deployment options. No reason you can't mix in other Imperium elements too like ground troops, tanks etc to back them up

So, after all i was right? Hell yeeeah! (Been asking this in 2 topics already)

You dont get the full idea of this order.

Take special weapons squard, set them, let's say, 3 inces away from the enemy, use order, throw 6d6 frag grenades, shot 12 lasgun shots (since the wargear options says "take option" not replace lasgun) and after that go full Killer Queen (is that a JoJo reference?!) and smash the ones who survived with 3 breacher charges!

Note that aerial drop won't get you within the 6" grenade range, you have to set up 9" away and can't move after. If you want to pull that trick you'll have to put them in a Valkyrie or Vendetta, so you can move after disembarking to get within 6".

The good news is a single Valkyrie or Vendetta can fit two of those squads in there, so they can do it twice.

Edit: you would be able to aerial drop the officer in though, because he can stay in the drop zone and still be in Order range of the squad that moved forward.
