had a great game vs Tau, I made quite a few tactical errors but I think my Ork list was ok. I'll probably play a slight variation next time.

Squigoth looks cool, where'd you get it if you don't mind me asking? Army itself doesn't seem too bad, as you said had you not gotten baited with the squig and if that blob of boys you da jumped at the beginning made assault could of been a totally different game.

Just to give my two cents, I would probably try and steer clear of spreading your boys squads out so much, since just a squad here and there doesn't pose much of a threat and without painboy and kff buffs they'll just die in droves. Could try dropping a squad or two and spend that on painboy and kff's to keep the boys around longer. Overall though, nice battle report! I wanna see that squigoth get into the thick of it and cause some real damage

Friendship is like peeing on yourself: everyone can see it, but only you get the warm feeling that it brings.

ASG:

So, gosh, I'm kinda surprised you gave up on that game, I thought the prognosis looked grim for the Tau. You had a large blob of boyz mid field that could have assaulted the midfield pathfinders or at least moved up enough to scare and shoot them. Your squiggoth should have some firepower to shoot off the broadsides or the midfield firewarrior (pathfinder?) unit controlling the center objective. Finally. For your far left flank... one PK nob vs one crisis suit with 3 flamers? That's a no contest win. You wouldve killed that thing and held the uncontested objective forcing broadsides to divert fire to kill the nob. Since you cant overwatch out of range you put the nob at a premeasured 8.0001 inches. Then the flamer suit cant touch you with over watch and you have a 15/36 chance to charge and make it within 1 inch and not face ANY overwatch. Furthermore, you'd get a reroll increasing your odds to well over 50% to make the charge. Swing first hit twice and do 2d3 wounds at AP -3 = dead suit.

Don't give up so easy just because all seems lost.

I am just as guilty though.

On the back of a hog.

Where did you get the movement trays? Been looking for decently priced ones.

@flaming tadpole, absolutely! Also I realized too late that I allowed him space to deep strike behind me. Overall I really gave up board control when I didn't have to. Squiggoth Is an ongoing conversion from amazon

@doktor_g, I had genuinely NOT thoughts of backing up out of flamers range.....DOH! Well, that's how we learn...in fairness I was getting hungry and I'm pretty worthless when I'm hungry.

@budzerker, I made them myself. Holes drilled in wood with a Forstner bit, glued on another wood base, silicon mold, resin casting. Total cost for the 50ish trays was something like $50.

Thanks for the response and tips! I'm trying to make a real effort to play better/more competitively this edition, the advice definitely helps!
