Holla peeps,

so I have been on and off this project for what seems like 2 years now. Now I have the FW corsair models for about 40 people odd, but I find their wings too flimsy and im not keen on how they look. so recently i have been looking into getting wings to make the conversions possible. The pics below show the first 3 models using possessed space marines wings, Stormcast eternal Prosecutors and dark eldar Sourge Wings.

I am aware that the filling on the models isn't the best at the moment, im still easing into it as i haven't really done much milliput or greenstuff before so its a learning curve for me.

Apart from going full Dark eldar Scourges and substituting out odds and sods if to use 3rd party wings like the below,
https://www.ebay.com/p/Reaper-Dark-Heaven-Metal-28mm-Fairy-Wings-Pack-MINT/1900395744
https://puppetswar.eu/product.php?id_product=267

The legs on dark eldar models and harlequins give a better dynamic look but its putting together everything else to for them. Then all the weapons are across them. Anyone have a picture is a dissonance pistol?

Other than that, any helpful comments or tips would be nice, im currently deciding on a colour scheme.

Thanks for reading, i will keep this up to date as i progress.

Another thin has anyone notice FW removing a large amount of stock?> no cosair bike or troop kits left along with alot of DKOK stuffs.

Not a huge fan. The corsairs that I'm aware of are more or less pirates. The giant oddly natural wings don't seem to work for me - would rather they have an eldar jump pack or the vibro-wings from the Swooping Hawks (whose packs are really only that shape because of their name and not really their function).

Thanks for the input, but due to corsairs nature they roam the galaxy and being that they are mixture of eldar and dark eldar it allows for a bit of fun with them. Also i can distinguish between models.

So project is slowly continuing, at the moment awaiting a shipment of legs to finish another 6 models, then i need to work on converting the rest of the models. At the moment i am trying to come up with a colour scheme, I was thinking of a purple base then black highlights. with possible green weather finish if there are any powders out there. Will try and replenish all my ruined paints soon.

Also im having a slight issue with green stuff, This is the first time i have used it admittedly, and its recommended both as a strong filler and adhesive, due to the fiddly-ness of splicing and pinning the wings on to the backpacks i've used green stuff as a back up to prevent movement, but it doesn't seem to dry hard after 72 hours. IMO milliput has performed much better so far. Anyone got any tips??? im using a 50/50 mix.

Lastly i plan on using my Prince with a Power Maul, is there anything preventing me from doing this, just because i think it would be amusing.

I also have 2 wraith knights turning up along with other models to steal parts off.

Any suggestions are welcome, please keep them courteous.

Having fun with it is essential. Bat or deamon wings make no real sense, but mixing them all in gives you a quite varried look. Also, these don't need to be horribly mutated space elves, they could just be cosplaying and using the compact size of the actual bit of tech that lets them jump to express their whimsy. Also, who says that the wings aren't holographic projections? =]

I have literally 3 pairs of feathered wings and have alot of bat wings. The possessed space marine wings were more of a see how it looks as the Celestial wings on the Prince were beyond fiddly to get them into the position i wanted so i had to compromise.

In relation to the bat wings, can class them as EX-Scourges who joined the corsair band, looking through the curent Index and older Dark eldar codex it seems they are just classified as winged troops. Which means that it is plausible to mount said wings without a jet pack and it still be in line with corsairs. however i do think looking at it the demonic wings may be a bit out of character, but there is another concept which i have seen which intrigues me.

Anyone know what god dark eldar worship? im reading Slaneesh

Uh...no sir. The Dark Eldar were lucky enough to not be gobbled up by the birth of Slaanesh, but they fear that thing just like any other space elf.
Their wholesale slaugher and pain orgies are a countermeasure to being sucked up by Slaanesh.

Also, the other Eldar factions are not worshipping any of their (dead or alive) gods per se. The Splintermind Podcast just had a great interview with Gav Thorpe, which among other things touched this topic.

Dark eldar do not worship slanesh. 5th edition codex that if they worship anything, it is more paragons of virtues long since dead. And they are all waiting to cream their pants and virshop Vecht as soon as he kicks the bucket.

The reason slanesh look like dark eldar is because even worse dark eldar where the blueprints that slanesh was birthed from. Dark Eldar are the real McCoy and not some bootlegged titular (in both sences of the word) god of lust.

Update for those who are interested. If not don't worry.

So brought some more scourges and 3 nurgle drones ( for 1 set of wings), and so far i've been converting these (i've been doing my Wraith knight, converting a normal one into a FW one - got 2 now).

Following the input form others, im using wings for felarchs for the most part to show them as different characters and to make the army abit more fun. and the heavy weapons have all their legs changed so they don't all blend together when im looking at them.

So the wings on the princess were from the nurgle bloat drone (demons) pinned through and magnetised on the back & arms so i can change the weapons as required. That is liquid green stuff to soothe the lines, needs a bit more once i finish more of the models (about 20 left some are just changing bases and the rest are weapons and legs). The backpack disintegrated when i removed the older demon wings leaving just the middle but IMO its worked out better than previously.

The new 4 wings character, inspiration taken off pintrest which had a 4 winged monster for DnD and i thought that would be cool and thus this guy was born. at the moment he is glued not magnetised, void sabre strapped to his waste. but a little lowgrade superglue on his arms means i can magnetise him later.

Can anyone recommend decent but cheap Trays for eldars inc pick and pluck, also a decent set of brushes Not top quality but cheapish?

If you made it this far thanks, if you skipped to this bit thanks anyway.

Look forward to the comments

Its nice to know someone is watching. SO next update after this i should hopefully be finished with making the rest of the corsair models, then be figuring out what to do with the venoms and the Falcons.

Below is the pics for the 29 models so far with the bits easily for another 10-15 depending on some salvage from older models.

also decided to attach my 2 wraithknights both got off ebay one nicely painted, needs some finishing. other one really has a p*** poor base coat and is missing some odds and sods from it, i managed to pick up a FW items bundle off ebay and have glued it all together. So before i think of basecoating i need to probably strip the paint on the torso and legs. sword isn't the colour i want but the seller sealed it.

What products to strip, keep getting told brown dettol, but still not sure. some guidence would be greatly appreciated.

Where to pin and where to magnetise Im thinking the arms on both and the weapons exc the sword as the had socket seems to keep it in place. I assume using a 2-3mm rod to pins the body and legs to the base. anyone know scenic bases which you can get for this colossus??? otherwise i will mount them on 2 28mm bases, im using slate resin bases for the corsairs at the moment.

Thanks for reading the jumbled above.

Holla peeps,

Below are more pictures so far. the troop side of my corsair army is ready at the moment. Just waiting for forge world to update the crosair kit (date TBC). While i am awaiting painting supplies to start a basic job i will start converting my 4 venoms and updating my falcons (possibly conversions) im thinking of a sail for the venoms, then im not sure on the falcons... also have 25 wyches to paint to accompany my corsairs as the are cheaper both in game and IRL £££ than harles.

past couple of days i have also put together about 30 DKoK will put some pictures up once i have got the basing completed.

So as the corsairs currently stand:#
- 25 troops - ready for painting
- 4 felarchs - ready for painting
- 3 HQ - ready for painting
- 3 Other HQ - game ready
- 2 Wraith knioghts - 1 game ready, 1 to be painted
- 1 avatar - to be painted.

all i need to do now is get some heavy support/ elites and vehicles - assembled and painted.

I also have enough bits still for about another 8 corsairs when they release more info in the future.

I will be adding the DKoK to this trhread when i finish basing... maybe a week.

thanks for reading.
