This guy's getting close to done. Thought I'd post a couple of pics in case I drop him and he shatters.

I still need to attach "football shoulder pads" over the cardboard cylinders to bulk up his top even more. I'm also planning to add a bit of a gorget/chest plate like some of the 2-3rd generation dress wear. And some shielding on his "Death Foe" 1st ed lascannon. And his power fist prolly needs fingers.

That's an enhanced power generator and jump pack he's wearing. Cuz Dreds had jump packs in 1st Edition! It came off a Zoid like 30 years ago, and was prev attached to a couple other models.

I always hated this original Dreadnought model, and used to prefer the 2nd gen blocky ones. But then I saw some guy's Chuck Dred conversion that looks influenced by Appleseed and Ghost in the Shell hardsuits, so I stripped my wife's old model and modded it up.

(Yes, she offered it up to the Machine God, it was never her favorite model either.)

I like the backpack.

The beefed up shoulders are cool but are they cardboard?

Might want to replace them with wood or plasticard before painting or they'll soak through.

Oh I forgot to mention:

The shoulder extensions ARE 2 (3?) layers of cracker-box cardboard, wrapped around wooden dowel, and soaked in cyanoacrylate. Just like the power fist.

Actually that power fist was the test run for my honking big Rogue Trader size assault squad jet packs / grav chute packs. I didn't like how the first one went, it looked a bit off, so I repurposed it.

I'm an Oldhammer guy at heart, but some of the old casts are pretty dire. I'd like to see Forgeworld re-imagine some of those older ones though.
