Is there any stories in Tau fighting Tau? Maybe the Farsight Enclaves during it out with "regular" Tau?

As far as I seen just in training hell FE saved the tau in the last book and gave them time to go after the fight

That was more of a gratitude thing from Shadowsun to Farsight as Aun'va (Or the Ethereal Council) had decreed he be brought in to answer for his crimes, she disobeyed and warned him beforehand.

So there is no inner fighting between the Tau like the IOM, Orks, or Chaos?

Outside of the Farsight Enclaves, no. Tau are super space hippy communists. It's more than feasible that some commander might declare for Farsight mid-campaign and fight their way out.

No, but it's feasible that different Tau septs conduct wargames against each other to better understand the different aspect of military doctrine[similiar to modern military wargames].

Nothing large scale that I know of, although I do remember there being short stories in Dawn of War Dark Crusade in which various Tau auxiliaries weren't getting along so well.

More specifically, some Kroot had disturbed a dormant Vespid hive, resulting in fighting that had to be brought to a stop by drones (I think I got all the details there right...)

Very small scale though.

You say Fiery Crash! I say Dynamic Entry!

*Increases Game Point Limit by 100*: Tau get two Crisis Suits and a Firewarrior. Imperial Guard get two infantry companies, artillery support, and APCs.

Depending on what rumors you go by, through mind control or sheer driven focus, the Tau are portrayed as united in their goals and hardly ever split. That being said, the inter-community aspects are left really vague, probably on purpose, so feel free to bend the fluff your way to get some in-fighting going.

Maybe there's a schism and an Ethereal claims another to be going against the greater good, ordering a strike to purge for the greater good. Maybe your group meets an alien race that is able to remove whatever control the Ethereals have, letting you see how clearly you were betrayed and used for their own gains. There's a lot of flexibility to have reasons why they would fight amongst themselves, even if it's not specifically mentioned.

I guess I like the idea of playing games much more than playing them...

That would be really cool, a possessed ethereal or one corrupted by genestealers.

The Tau is very much about creating a since of unity and information control. Its quite possible that the Tau race isn't quite as unified as they would want to portray and have had rebellions and other infighting. Of course that sort of information would of been kept from the general Tau population and from Imperial records.
