So im at the stage where i want to give it some chipping effects but ive never done it and this is also my first time highlighting so boldly.
Should i do with a sponge using Skavenblight dinge (can i replace this with Vallejo Basalt grey) and leadbelcher.
Any advice and critique appreciated.

If it this type of effect you're after

Then you might be out of luck, I've added the tutorial but you would need to put the chipping layer underneath first before applying the top coat.

Chipping Effect

HOWEVER

You could try using a stippling sponge (Check fancy dress make up kits, Pirates especially, these sponges are used to do beards...Snazzaroo has something that might give you an idea) and carefully do it on the edges using the tiniest amount of paint (In case you make a mistake) but for the best chipping effects, I think you've gone way past that point unfortunately

Sponge on (check your local hobby store for a big cheap bag of different types - use a hobby knife to cut the sponge to get a sharp, narrow edge): Dark Brown (Rhinox Hide or typhus corrosion for more texture) -> Ryza rust -> leadbelcher (where the rust has fallen off).

I've had great results with this method.
