In January next year, my FLGS is holding an escalation campaign of 30k, starting with 500pts, and eventually hitting 2000pts

I'm currently collecting the talons of the emperor, and so far I have two boxes of custodes and 1 box of sisters of silence, still on their sprues.

So, my question is two fold: how viable are the talons in 30k, and if there are any must haves I need?

I have played against them about four times, and in my experience as a stand alone army they rely HEAVILY on their fancy toys from FW. The hover tanks and special dreads help a lot, and from what I have heard the bikes are very good.

At 500 points I feel like Talons will have a really rough time unless you are doing some ZM or custom small board kill team actions.
