Veteran Knight Baron in a Crusader

At my desk

I'm currently in the middle of converting a set of Primaris Lieutenants into a Captain and Librarian (I would provide photos but my lamp is currently out and it's night here in the UK) and I'm just afraid I may be making some areas a little too cluttered with detail.

For example my Captain has the giant crest from the Ultramarines upgrade sprue on his helmet, but I also want to add an Iron Halo to his backpack (I know having a physical one there isn't necessary, but I like to represent them) but I fear one will detract from the other if I have both - and the model may compositionally be top-heavy.

So do any of you converters out there have any general techniques or guidelines you follow to get a pleasing result? Any thoughts or comments are greatly appreciated. Cheers.

2000pts Free Peoples (Edlynd Fusiliers) - 2000pts Kharadron Overlords (Barak Zilfin) - 500pts Ironweld Arsenal (Edlynd Ironwork Federation) - 1000pts Duardin (Grongrok Powderheads)

Wargaming's no fun when you have a plan!

Blu-tack everything together and take a look. If you like it, it's all good. If you don't, then change things until you do.
