Hey All,

Curious how you resolve 'Always hits on a 3+ irrespective of modifiers' vs 'Is always hit on a 6+ irrespective of modifiers' for the Alaitoc Pathfinder stratagem.

The FAQ clarifies that the 3+ overides any BS modification like the assassins, but not this situation.

In short, you can't resolve it and the game break. You'll have to fall back to "The Most Important Rule" and roll-off to decide.

Or have it as a sequence of two rules you have to apply. Since it’s my turn I’ll pick the reapers rule to apply last.

That doesn't really work because it's not two things triggering at once, it's two static rules that always apply. WTB MTG Comp rules.

Considering that the Alaitoc Pathfinder stratagem will only be used on the enemies turn, sequencing would make it useless against Reapers since they shoot 99% of the time in their own shooting phase.

I'd have to agree on it being a broken point - namely neither one mentioned are modifiers, so neither apply --- so both rules apply.

Roll off, or come to a reasonable middle ground somehow with your opponent. If you're playing two Eldar forces against each other you're going to use the same rule both directions so it shouldn't hurt anything. Decide this prior to your game.

Yeah that's the conclusion most people are coming to. Maybe there's some more devil in the detail when I can see the book.

It will be interesting because I feel reapers will be so abundant in light of all the -1 armies. Subsequently rangers can be the little minor adjustments that help you in a mirror match.

What's more I can imagine with the amount of modifiers around, "irrespective of modifiers" will become a mechanic more widely used by the games designers and hence will lead to more of these situations.
