Heading off to a tournament in a couple of weeks. Requirements besides the points is that you must use a single patrol detachment and no allies and no FW. This is my ever evolving list of what I'm thinking about now for my IG. I'm on the fence about the vox casters. I could convert that into a Pask instead of a Tank commander. Anyway list works out to be 1k on the nose. Suggestions critiques welcome!

Regiment: Cadian
HQ: Tank commander, punisher gattling cannon, 3x HB, Aquila relic
HQ: Company commander, boltpistol, Grand strategist
Elite: Vet Squad w/Lascannon, vox caster
Elite: Vet Squad w/Lascannon, vox caster
Troops: Infantry Squad w/Lascannon, vox caster
Troops: Infantry Squad w/Lascannon
Troops: Infantry Squad
FA: Scout Sentinel w/multi-laser
FA: Scout Sentinel w/multi-laser
Heavy: Leman Russ, punisher gattling cannon, 3x HB
Heavy: Leman Russ, punisher gattling cannon, 3x HB

The tanks can potentially put out 49 S5 shots at 24" each rerolling 1s to hit. Vox caster allows the company commander to give orders up to 18" away to the vet squads from the infantry squad he'll be hanging with. Scout sentinals scout out to screw with DS a little (although on a 4x4 table that could be quite a bit). Infantry and vets can either run around holding objectives or be a meat shield if needed. The relic and grand strategist warlord trait helps out with the anemic 3CP I have to work with (on a 5+ I get some or all back if I use a stratagem or if my opponent does).

One of my peeps is going as well so we did some test games together. He played a Dark Angels list that kicked my butt (mostly vehicles - two of those dark talons). Then he played Blood Angels with two units of fully decked out sanguinary guard and again he clobbered me :( Terrain placement hurt me a bit and some of my own tactics worked against me but I think this new and improved list will help answer some of those short comings.

Its good having those lascannons but LOS is still going to hurt you a bit, maybe drop one of the punisher russ's, add a basilisk or manticore possibly? That way you can threaten vehicles/monsters without needing line of sight.

Also I would suggest heavy flamers on the sentinels, the multi laser is pretty bad, and they get that cool scout move in the beginning so ranged weapons are hitting on 5+, I use them as a speed bump for my army, they also do well at denying deep striking.

otherwise pretty good list, good luck to you dude.

Ok, made some of the suggested changes which allowed me to get one more lascannon and upgrade to Pask but I see the sentinels as being the first casualties so I didn't try to get them the HF. I figure if they're scouting they're probably dead anyway and if they don't scout then they can stand back and take pot shots.

That looks like it could handle a wider variety of targets, and yep the scout sentinels would definitely die first, they always do for me, but all my friends have melee armies that swarm fast in the first turn so it works out well and ties up targets for me to shoot at before they get in melee combat. .

Yeah, same here. One of the guys in my club that is playing practice games with me runs BA lead by two units of fully decked out dudes with jump packs who are assaulting me turn one or two. In the last game he managed to hide both units behind an LOS wall and I couldn't get in a turn of shooting before he got in a perfect assault. It was a sad day for IG :(

The only thing this list seems lacking on is indirect fire. A manitcore aint a bad start though. Could get rid of one veteran squad to fit in a couple mortar squads. Cadian mortars are pretty darn good. I do really like the choice of lascannons in your squads though.
