I don't actually know. I bought guilliman blue glaze and used it recently, and it looked exactly like a bright blue wash. Is there a significant difference in how they're used/what effects you get?

From what I find, a glaze is supposed to cover where you put it, like most paints. It changes the colour of whole area you put it.
Washes are more for getting into the corners and gaps, for making dark areas darker. Washes run off the main areas, and pool more than other paints.
