Hi all,

My Guardsmen and I are looking for some special weapons. It's difficult to get multiples of things like Plasma, Melta and Sniper Rifles, and I would like Dakka's suggestions on where I can get these weapons.

I'm after a place/supplier that I can get some bits from that'll fit the Cadian bodies.

I've looked on Anvil Industry and eBay, but I want to see what else is out there.

One option would be to get FW ones. They have marine arms though so you need to cut those and add them to lasgun arms from IG. Not sure about size though. Might be bit big.

I’ve kit bashed them using spare grenade launcher arms and Space Marine weapons for the plasma and melta (the actual weapons are identical, it’s just the handles that are different.)

I’ve converted sniper rifles from normal lasguns, using plastic rod to extend the barrel and suppressor and adding a large sight from the Ork boys kit, of all places!

That idea for the sniper sounds great, I'll definitely try that out.

When you say the grenade launcher arms, how have you done that?

I think the grenade launcher cylinder could work for a Melta, like some kind of fuel(?) container.

Those guns all look really good, and I could definitely get some use out of them.

The only issue with those would be arms, are Lasguns easy to cut away from the arm and replace?

Or if there are good replacement arms that'd be easy to put some Plasma guns on.

On the Cadian sprues I am pretty certain that you can convert 4 without any real difficult work (one cut to get the pistol grip away from the hand and the other hand is not moulded onto the weapon) as for alternate arms Anvil and Victoria are both perfect.

The ones with hands not attached to the guns would be a simple conversion, that's a good idea.

I think Victoria might be a bit difficult, postage across the world is a bit steep.

But Anvil Industry has never failed me, so that's looking like the best shot.

Vic uses flat rate shipping (9.99USD) which is pretty expensive and not the best for smaller orders though shipping is free over $100. Though yeah, Anvil rock and are my go to even though they are across the world!

Doing a bit more digging, I've found some awesome man-portable Lascannons too. So that'll definitely get some use.

So I've now got a sniper conversion, and some special weapons! Thank you, internet.

Plasma and Meltaguns can be bought directly. They are fine cast, but it's preferable to the metal they were previosuly for fitting them on guardsmen

I'm past the 30 plasma gun mark and fitting them to some of the lasgun arms. I've found removing the butt of the gun to fit to the lasgun one molded to the guy's arm works quite well.

Some people find the idea that other people can be happy offensive, and will prefer causing harm to self improvement.

Those look really good for what I'm after, but I think I have a few plastic Plasma guns which are just easier to work with.

Flamers look like a good platform for attaching the end of a Plasma gun to, so I'll try that.

Meltas could be made out of Grenade Launchers, I think.

Snip the trigger hand of the launcher and simply mount the meltagun to the top, with the side handle glued to the side:

That looks great! I could totally do that for Melta guns. It looks a little easier than sawing up a Grenade launcher too.

Thanks for the picture!
