For just cool looking grots, of course, there's kromlech, but I'd like more flexible conversion fodder.

GW offers a "grots" box, but all I can find at the discount retailers are the 'moonclan grots', which look to be rather different.

Unfortunately I missed out on a good deal on a big stack of these guys on ebay (saved for later, but came back to bid ~2h after it closed).

Has anyone compared Mantic goblins side-by-side with GW ones? Will they fit in?

Any other recommendations?

thanks!

Aren't these what you're looking for?

IIRC grots is just the shorthand for gretchin.

I've got 3 boxes of those guys, but they only have one 'posable' grot in the box. Some have replaceable heads only, and others are single-piece models. I'm looking for something that's easier to resposition the arms to be do other things, or have other poses (like swing tank-hammers, manipulate the controls of an exosuit, drive bikes, drop bomms, or crew artillery)

The FW ones are pretty nice as far as a variety of poses. No
T necessarily poseable though.

I've got a set of those arriving today, I think -- I haven't seen any in person but I'm looking forward to playing with them (I also have a single set of GW mek-gun crew). I wish I could just get 1 of each grot GW makes for the various kits (oilers, orderlies, and the various crew) without paying upwards of $3 each as bits on ebay :(.

- WHFB goblins are good but a tad bigger
- WHFB gnoblars have perfectly sized bodies, but I don't like their heads - personal preference though
- quite a few of the mono-pose gtos cna be cut up in all kinds of ways - check my blog for inspiration
- human-sized hands work well as gloves, opening up some options.

Man gnoblars are hilarious. you have to use the one with the broken bottle as a weapon.

are these for fantasy or 40k or something?

they are for 40k -- I keep hearing about gnoblars but the only ones i've actually seen are carrying a huge pile of stuff (I have a few of those). Is there a good place other than ebay to get the older WHFB goblins regiments (not moon-clan) or gnoblars?

CK -- thanks for the tip about human hands, I hadn't considered that... I'm sure the boy's space marines have some left over bits that could be looted...

Oh they are under grots for some reason

35$ for 24 of them.

i think its two x 1 spure so you will be getting duplicates.

the cooler gnoblars are in various ogre kits and it would be best to bits order them from ebay though its been dry lately.

The regular ogre kit has a pointing guy that goes in a lookout tower for example. Other then that is the boxed set, which will net you a whole bunch ;

So gnoblars and gitmob grots are the same thing? still can't find them at any of the online shops, but push come to shove I'll buy a box at MSRP from GW.

The old WHFB goblins were multi-part and pretty easy to convert, but these days are hard to find. The more recent goblins were mostly mono-pose and much harder to convert :(
