I've been wanting to convert some kustom mega kannons for my Ork army. I'm not really looking to get the official kit and then a trukk to make four/five. Are there any models from other armies that could make for some good conversions? I was taking a look at Eldar weapons teams and kataphron breachers.
All advice is much appreciated

Depends on what you want the end result to be but I don't think the Eldar ones would work for me if I was doing it.
The Breachers however do look like a good base - you can use the plasma cannons as that's sort of the same statline as KMKs, and obviously the track sections work, just need to find something for the upper bit. Maybe the gun shield from the Ironstriders (if you can find enough people who assembled the other version which I don't think uses it?)?
