Hello to all members of Dakka Dakka. I am new to wargaming but have always been interested. My wife and I have just purchased the Warhammer 40k rulebook and some codex. (Necron codex for me and Chaos Demons for her.) We have yet to invest in any models but I am hoping that by browsing this forum and using the collective knowledge you all have we can make some decisions on what to purchase. All input from experienced players of these factions or just the game in general is greatly appreciated, especially in regards to army composition.

My wife and I have a mountainous collection of board games and we come from a long background of MTG. Regional events, travel, etc. We have had our frustrations with WotC however and decided to step away from the shiny cardboard and play something we can put our hearts into. What better choice than a game where you build and paint the characters yourself.

We are very excited to be starting out. Our paints are prepped, lore studied, all that's left is to choose the army itself. Excited to be here and excited to start the Warhammer 40k journey!
