So my DoK project was on hold the past few months as literally every generic HQ in the army is packaged in the same unavailable kit. But this week the clouds parted and my daily return to the GW website was rewarded with news that the Cauldron of Blood was, however briefly, back in stock.
So I ordered two (looks like the boxed set with the witches is gone for good sadly), one for a shrine, one for a cauldron, with intent to explore magnetizing options, and went back to the list.
I'm revisiting this after a few months, so I may be rusty on the rules interactions, but this is the list I came up with a few months back, and my best recollection of the reasoning behind it. Feedback is always appreciated.

Notes: I love the DoK's mechanic for passing out mortal wounds when attacked, it reminds me of the fanatical warboys from Fury Road. The majority of my army is geared to make use of it, with a core of buff throwers to make them really feel that first push. At three drops total I have no idea how often they'll be going first though.
Draichi Ganeth let's me assign the unit of witch aelves to the slaughter troupe, reducing my drops and giving it a unit that completely benefits from the combination of Draichi's buff o the charge and the troupe's ability to retreat and charge in the same turn. With it, the witches, sufficiently buffed by the Hag Queen, charge in take hits and exhaust the enemy counterattack, allowing the sisters of slaughter to dance in from 6 inches away with minimal risk.
The Heartrenders will drop in as soon as there's space for them behind enemy lines, attacking something squishy at range (wizards and flying heroes in particular are the priority target, along with ranged units in general).
Bow snakes will keep close pace with the spear snakes as I don't like their melee profile in general, depending on how they perform the spear snakes may instead end up being the first line while the witches build up steam, I don't really have a favourite either way yet.
The choice of who gets on the cauldron of blood is a rough one for me. As written the battalions say Bloodwrack Medusa and Slaughter Queen and not 'BLOODWRACK MEDUSA' and 'SLAUGHTER QUEEN' suggesting to me that they mean the specific unit and not the big sister version with the same keywords. Operating on that basis the Hag Queen is the only one who can be on the Cauldron, but I really want an FAQ ruling.
The Slaughter Queen will keep pace with the cauldron and witches to confer her leadership bubble to the witches, who in turn will be buffed by the brew, mindrazor, and whatever prayers I feel comfortable passing to them. The medusa will try to stand between the Slaughter Queen and enemy casters and do her best to turn an incoming arcane bolt into a friendly mystic shield.
The real stock in my craw is the final points cost though: 1970. I don't think there's anything cheap enough to fill that gap.
