I'm gathering opinions from a few places and wanted to check here too. DeathWatch are one of the few codexes I've seen in which only one color scheme is offered. I was debating whether or not to stick to it as all of my other marines are already a high-gloss black and I'm not looking forward to more black. Any opinions on alternate color schemes? Has anyone done it before?

Could always reverse the "black armor, original chapter colors shoulder pad".

Or do white instead of black for some reason. Or invert the silver arm and black armour.

Take a look at what I've been painting and modelling: https://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/0/725222.page

Originally they were their usual chapter colours with the DW silver shoulder and arm, you could run with that.

There aren't really alternate schemes to it out there as it is a single chapter without successors and sort of in the same place as the Grey Knights, but you could do the black differently.
One way to do it is with a very matte black if your others are glossy, and then make them dirty with weathering powders or add chipping to their paintjob. Or you could do them all very very dark metals until it's a metallic black.

Oh, I certainly vote with my dollar, but the problem is that that is not enough. The problem with the 'vote with your dollar' response is that it doesn't take into account why we're not buying the product. I want to enjoy 40k enough to buy back in. It was my introduction to traditional games, and there was a time when I enjoyed it very much. I want to buy 40k, but Gamesworkshop is doing their very best to push me away, and simply not buying their product won't tell them that.
