Hey fellow Dakkas.
Getting back into the hobby after years off and planning to LED my models.
Managed to knock out the below in a day.
Got a Knight Errant to put together and light up hopefully before this weekends release of the new Knights. Also have a Valkyrie and Vulture Gunship that will both have full nav, strobe and interior lighting. As it keeps going ill update the post.
Any feedback or tips on LED lighting models will be greatly appreciated as I'm still fresh with it.
Manticore -
Yellow Flickering for interior - 5mm
Blue and White led for respective searchlight/target scanner light
IK Paladin -
2 x 3mm Green LED for eyes/facemask
1 x 1.8mm red slow flash for battlecannon (should of used a yellow or orange)
 Cheers

This should go to modelling & painting.

Life is like a box of chocolates. A cheap, thoughtless and perfunctory gift nobody ever asked for. Unreturnable because all you get back is another box of chocolates. So you're stuck with this undefinable whipped mint crap that you mindlessly wolf down because there's nothing left to drink. Sure once in a while there's a peanut butter cup or a English toffee, but they're gone too fast and the taste is fleeting. So you end up with nothing but broken bits of hardened jelly and teeth shattering nuts. If you're desperate enough to eat those all you've got left is a. An empty box, filled with useless brown paper wrappers. |

The titan looks great. The protruding LEDs on the tank don't quite look right; they would look better flush. Also, the bright blue LED in the missile rack is just a bit out of place to begin with.

Cheers for the feedback. Kind of just looked at the box and saw it was painted blue and just threw it in. Maybe a red might be better?
Next one ill do flush !

I am of the opinion that LEDs need to be dimmed alot more than is often seen.
They should supplement the paint job, not dominate it

Utilizing Careful Highlighting

The LED brightness is fine. It will always seem brighter when photographed due to camera settings, but on the tabletop it won’t be too bright at all.

Brightness will also depend on the LEDs.
I've got some old LEDs (as in I bought the bag of them about 30ish years ago) that would be lucky to push 40mcd out - not because they fade over time, but because we've learned how to make them brighter since then - and others, bought in the last few years that can do 2000mcd.
There's also the single 5000mcd blue-white that I call my "harnessed supernova"

It's less of a colour issue and more that it's just not clear why there would be a single bright light in the middle of the missile launcher. It's just not obvious what the light is supposed to be, you know?

That knight is brilliant - nice job!
The interior light on the tank is cool but the others dont quite work as well, i think if you put a cage over the other lights made of thin plastic or wire it might look better - the LED would be the bulb in the light fitting rather than being the fitting.

Yeah got what you mean! Might leave it out on the next one or cage it up so its smaller and only a fine beam of light potentially
