Greetings and well met. I'm an old man gamer who hasn't played 40k in 12-15 years. I'm jumping back in. I love the Harlequins and their new codex. But, I'm disappointed in their sole choice for heavy support.

Can I run a Battalion of harlies and then plunder either an Air Wing detachment or Spearhead detachment from the Drukhari since they're all Aeldari? Some ravagers or razorwings/voidravens seem to have potential in offering some good long range heavy firepower.

Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

You can totally do what you are talking about. If you separate the different Aeldari into completely separate detachments then yes this is absolutely legal and a great combination! I personally love a single Archon with writ of the living muse standing next to three ravagers just lighting stuff up!

Just make sure to keep the detachment pure (as in composed entirely of just one type of Aeldari) so that they keep their factions benefits. So taking a battalion of Harlies and a spearhead of Drukhari is totally viable and legal.

That's great news. I thought that was how it worked, but I wasn't positive. Thanks for the quick response. I'll gladly take a look at your Archon idea.

Welcome back to the game!

Yes, an army can be composed of detachment from faction A (Harlequins) and another form faction B (Druhkari) as long as they share a faction keyword (Aeldari).

In the big FAQ that was released, in matched play you can no longer form a detachment using following keywords: Chaos, Imperium, Aeldari, Ynnari or Tyranids, so no mix-and-matching Druhkari & Harlequins in the same detachment. You wouldn't want to do it even if it was allowed as it would prohibit you from accessing chapter traits as the above poster explained.
