Subject: AoS Maybe?

So I'm thinking of picking up AoS on the cheap as a funsies side-game to Infinity.
From outward appearance, it looks just that. A fun game with interesting things that I don't have to take seriously. I probably won't play tournaments with them. But we'll see how that goes.
However, I know very little about the game.
I was thinking about picking up a copy of the new box set and trading the other side with someone.
Nighthaunts seem to be a tad one dimensional, ethereal movement/fly/no shooting/good magic. But are thematically much cooler.
Stormcasts seem to be tactically flexibile, can do pretty much anything. The models are ok and easy to paint.
Tell me about your experience with each of the two factions?
What other purchases would be required to have a reasonable 2000pt army for each faction? (Assuming I have two starter boxes)
...
One of my friends picked up a ridiculous amount of Stormcasts for like $100AUD secondhand and it's kind of sparked my interest. =p

There is a thin semantic line between weird and beautiful. And that line is covered in jellyfish. |

If you go to GW's site you can download both the core rules and all the warscrolls (game stats) for every model in the starter box. Go to the boxed set page and it will have either Rules or Downloads as one of the tabs. Using those you can fairly easily do a game or three on trial using proxies.

I tried to do the nighthaunts, or I should say the old start collecting set, the one with a few dead horses and the chariot thingy. I tried to put together the ghosts AND ALL MY GOD I almost quit the hobby.
I know I am not that good at it, but a simple ghost was so freaking frustrating to put together. I am hoping these new kits are easier to do. It looks like they are, but the swirling ghosts I almost pulled my hair out. Still love them once the are put together.

Agies Grimm:The "Learn to play, bro" mentality is mostly just a way for someone to try to shame you by implying that their metaphorical nerd-wiener is bigger than yours. Which, ironically, I think nerds do even more vehemently than jocks.
Everything is made up and the points don't matter. 40K or Who's Line is it Anyway?

Go take a look at some warscrolls on the AOS app and use whatever takes your fancy. Proxy everything for a few games and see if you like it or not, if not, try something else. There's bound to be something for you.

Look at the models, see which faction appeals to you most, read some lore or watch youtube lore videos.
I think that's the best way of going about it, if you get to love a faction you never look back.
