You can add them directly to Dakka and host from there, or use a blog. The Dakka stuff is veryn't high quality.

I use imgur for all my photo storing needs. The phone app is relatively painless.

Flickr, although for Dakka I duplicate the photos in the gallery. If you paste in the forum code to display at full size the forum automatically resizes the image for the thread whilst retaining the quality.

Dakkas forum automatically resizes it to fit? Is that a fairly new feature?

Every now and then some thread views are bonkers because someone posted a humongous image.

imgur creates same named images only with a m, l or s postfir for large, medium and small, ie foobars.jpg would be foobar.jpg in small size, which I found nice, but if dakka already does this then I wouldnt have to worry about that anymore

To avoid confusion, Dakka only automatically resizes gallery images. When embedding images from Flickr etc. you'll need to use the size options on those platforms...

As previous posters said Dakkas own gallery is very nice and plus points for sidebar list with different options for posting pics in different ways.

I use imgur, it is hassle free and can output phpbb code complete with img tags for sharing. Dakka is usually smart enough to resize to screen width by itself.

I resize and sharpen photos before uploading (1000 pixels on the longest side is normally more than sufficient for online posting).

I then use either imgur or flickr to host the photos; typically imgur is for anyting whilst flickr I "try" to keep it to the best/finished stuff.

Both are free and work easily; for casual use I'd say imgur is a lot easier to use as it generates all the codes you need to embed/link to with ease (flickr has some sharing codes but is a bit more restrictive in what they show - I'm more there for my photography in general).

Having said all that, I've just stopped using the gallery and started embedding images directly from Flickr. It means I don't have to duplicate my photos and I have complete control over the size without loss of quality. In addition, I notice that you have to change all the https URLs to http in the BBCode supplied by Flickr otherwise it doesn't work.
