I've got a small force of Custodes (3 Guardians, a Shield Captain, and a Vexilla) that I want to paint up to fight alongside my Raven Guard. I plan to paint them as Solar Watch, meaning that their armor will be primarily bone (I'm thinking Deathwing style) and gold, with some red accents. However, the basing scheme that I use for my Raven Guard is already fairly light in color, and I wonder if there will be enough contrast if I do the same thing for the Custodes. If I do their bases differently though, they won't mesh very well with the rest of my army...

What do you think I should do? Any ideas for bases that would keep the force unified, but still let the Custodes "pop"? Here's a pic of what my bases look like for my Raven Guard, and an example of the type of scheme I'm going for with the Custodes. Any help is appreciated!

IF i was you, i would do the basing exactly the same, but alot more grass tufts of the same style and color tone on the custis.
that way the eye will fokus on the tufts rather then the offwhite gravel the white model stands on, and you can keep the basing theme the same.

Interesting, that’s a good idea. Thanks!
