I know right? One of the very best original shows. Every cast member was gold.

Yeah, Powers Booth has passed. He was Ian McShane's rival saloon owner/ criminal mastermind. He was fantastic.
They could have Swerengen kill him off before the movie starts or something.

That really sucks. They were both amazing villains in different ways. Honestly, everyone on that show was amazing. Hell, they killed off Garret Dillahunt's character in the first season and he was so good he got a new character in the second season. Both he did very well. I hope they bring him back as a 3rd character in the movie.
I am so excited for this!

I want to be excited, but if this is anything like the X-files new seasons, it's probably better to have left it where it was.

It's HBO. They'll crush it like they normally do. And the calibre of people coming back will make it amazing. I mean, I'd see it for Timothy Olyphant alone

It's HBO owned by AT&T that has already started laying people off and wants HBO to be the next Netflix. I love Deadwood but I am taking this news with about the largest grain of salt I can possibly find while praying that AT&T doesn't screw this up.

But, that's the game.
I mean, we more or less died when Wu of all people wanted to see Swedgin! and tried to explain the dope situation to him through Chinese, drawings and a very angry delivery of that word.
Cue Al.. "Yeah, I'm glad I taught you that effing word."
And downstairs.. "Those are the first ones I heard coming from that office that weren't from Al."

Ah, Deadwood...the show I was desperate to love. Loved the environment, loved the actors, but I just never felt the show went anywhere. As an Old West gamer, I did enjoy it "enough". I was pretty put off with the abrupt ending though - and I understand why. Wonder what they'll do regarding closure, or if it'll be more stand-alone.

Yeah I had high hopes for the show too, but the longer it went on, and the more diluted the story got, the more annoyed I was with the dialog.
I've been to the actual Deadwood too. Its not much bigger than whats portrayed in the series. If you ever get the chance to drive through the Black Hills in South Dakota, its some pretty driving. Still blows my mind how people would set out west in those days to hack it out in the land and try to make something of themselves.
