I've been thinking of getting either a FW Achillus or Telemon Dread for my Custodians, think they'll be a great centerpiece to the army, but going over the rules I'm a little bit reluctant. They seem good, albeit very expensive in an army that already struggles to put enough bodies on the field. If I were to use the Achillus, it'd probably be through FGLTC to get it stuck in quickly, and the Telemon would be hanging back with 12(?) S8 shots + 10 S5. Again, this looks impressive but you're looking at over 300 points which could be used elsewhere.

Has anyone had any success with these units, or can offer some advice on if they're viable at all? As a side note, I'm liking the look of the Sagittarum Guard as well, has FW dropped any info or hints as to when the IA book with the rest of the Custodians is to be released?

They achillus is overpriced...I've used him twice and he hasn't done anything, really. Though I suppose that's more my fault for having him hold a flank against a tide of demons while the rest of my army chewed through the other flank of the demon army.

The telemon is great, if pricey. Mine has outright annihilated a kytan. Mine has the str 8 gun and a caestus. Dropped the kytan by almost half before it was able to hit my lines, and then the telemon countercharged and took it out. It is pricey, but wounding knights on twos is very nice. Not sure if its a super competitive choice, but it tough, has decent ranged and combat potential.

As to the rest of the forgeworld stuff getting rules: They've stated earlier in the year, around march?, that they are releasing another IA book that will cover custodes and sisters of silence, I believe. I expect it out this year, but I have no idea when.

Thanks for the input.

Shame about the Achillus, I was hoping he'd be better than that. A "sweep attack" mode with his spear would be a nice addition, but I'm planning on magetising him so I can just remove the spear and run him as an Exemplar if needed.

For the Telemon, I'm planning on running it with 2x Illiastus Cannons, while I've also ordered a Caestus for him because it's cool, I can't see it being effective; it's 120 points just for that and the Plasma Ejectors, and while it's absolutely brutal, you lose a fair bit of firepower by moving and trying to get into CC.
