So i've only played BB digitally before, and from what i've gathered this tabletop edition of BB plays pretty much same but with some differences. My question was i've always loved goblins for their thematic comedy, dirty playstyle and silly shenanigans they get up to, but are they abit more competative in this edition of BB or are they still just mostly a joke team to enjoy for fun and to laugh as a troll picks up and promptly hurls a goblin like a lawn dart straight into the ground KO'd.

Goblins are definitely a Tier 3 team - you're going to rely on the randomness of the Trolls and their Special Weapons to do any damage to the other team or score.

As Ravenpoe says in his review of the Goblin team:

Why should you play Goblins?
Honestly, you probably shouldn't. Not if you care very strongly about winning. You should play goblins if you care about having fun, though. Of giving you a challenge, and causing chaos on the pitch. Goblins are by far the most dangerous team in all of Blood Bowl. It's just unfortunate that most of that is in being a danger to themselves. But you can turn this against your opponent by overwhelming them with pure disregard for the safety of your own little green players.

How good are you at not rolling 1's and 2's? That's the key to success with Gobbos.

If you manage to kill things withy our weapons you solid through the secrets weapons. If noy, you have a problem.

They ate funn though. Do you play to winn money, or just for funn?

I like to play for fun but I like to try to not just get horribly run over, I enjoy putting up a sembalance of a fight, but I have a soft spot for goblins overall as a Night Gobbo/Moon Clan Grots fan guy. x) Was sad to read that the Black Gobbo cannot be take as a star player in conventional sense, only as some paired game match with the White Dwarf. :(

Goblins are definitly more competetive in BB2016 than BB2. That's because they got more positions now: 'Ooligan and Doom Diver. That unfortunately is not enough to make the team as a whole much better, so they're still Tier 3 and a joke team, just with a couple new options.

Goblins also got the largest selection of special balls which may help them or just increase the random crazyness: Snot suit, bomb and the flat ball. In addition they can take the generic Spikey ball like all the other teams. And they can use more than one dirty ball per game too. There's a few new new star players in BB2016 which also give them more options, the squig rider comes to mind for example.

I NEED THIS STAR PLAYER IN MY LIFE..! Is he very new and the model isn't out yet? I know of the guy on the pogo-stick obviously, and the Black Gobbo now, but not heard of this person before at all.

No model yet, but it should be easy to find some fantasy miniature or convert one yourself.

Madcap Miggz is the name. Loads of skills like Break Tackle, Claws, Leap, No Hands, Very Long Legs, Wild Animal and has Strength 4 for the low price of 170k.
