While I haven't finished my ork-grey knight conversion (you can find it in my posts) I'm already starting to work on the grot-harlequins. While I'm waiting to get some gnoblar bodies I started working on prototyping the heads. This is are first and the second options of the harlegrot masks with one being a grot wearing an ork skull as a helmet. This goes along with the harlequin masks being used as a tool to scare the enemy's by projecting frightening visages. This here is a grot that killed an ork and is now wearing his skull. Pretty scary, right? The second one is an actual mask. Which looks more harlequin-ish but i dunno, the skull is great as well. So what do you guys think?

Also, I'm not exactly decided kn the name yet. I'm undecided between Grotlequins and Harletchin ATM. Also, the actual in-game name will probably be Klown Kult. Or maybe Killah Klown Kult, although I dislike the KKK abbreviation. Anyone got any opinions or ideas? =)

For masks I’d say both are great, what you could do is have actual skulls for heroes/specialists and masks for the “grunts.”

As for name perhaps “The Great Grot Gester Gubilee” or something off of jester to help avoid accidental unfortunate implications?

Man, both of those sound like great advice!

Decided to go with "masks for players, skulls for specials" approach and made two more heads while waiting for the gnoblar. I think I might do different masks for different troupes. Gork for Light, Mork for Dark and a mix of two for Twilight.

Those gnoblars sure are taking forever to arrive. Trying to do a mask a day after work while waiting and failing to keep up with even that x)

Oof, I feel you on the challenge of daily goals. I found setting aside a specific time just for painting helps me achieve mine.

In the first pic I love the one with worried eyebrows. Looks like the hair transplants went well, definitely better than what humans have done to themselves!

As for update size, small is fine by me! Better you actually have the time/energy to actually do something and post it than not.

With my first guy I decided to start with a base and go up to the grotlequin. A dead ork seems exceptionally fitting =) Done the ork and tried fitting the grot with bluetack (although it's white =D).

My next important goal is to figure out how am I gonna model the melee weapons and pistols.

Sorry for the crappy quality but I've made my first kneepad, shoulderpads and front of the cloak yesterday and I'm quite pleased with all that =)

This is a great idea! I love the look of the grot on top of the dead Ork. Very harlequin-esque. I'm looking forward to seeing more.

That's a great idea. The pose really makes the image.

Thanks for all the kind words =)

So I think I'm finalising on what I'm gonna do as a flipbelt. It's gonna be a jump pack (currently a stormboy-style rocket but it might change to something less flashy) with a belt that has a red button on the buckle. So when a grotlequin wants to do jumps and spins he smashes the button and all his movements become very fast and tottaly unpredictable =) Not sure if I'm gonna say that in this case flipbelt and holosuit are the same thing or if I'll make up a way to represent the second one as well.

So I think I've finally figured out what I'm gonna go for shuricen weapons. You know how the launch sharp solid projectiles? Well I found the perfect way to grotlify that. Nail guns x)

Hello! It's been a while! I've lost the interest after the fly keyword nerf since the melee movement shenanigans was pretty much the core reason I wanted to do harlequins. But recently I've got it back and I'm working towards them grots again =)
here's what my caresses are gonna look like. I might add an odd wire here and there but it's pretty much done.

Love the idea, and the conversions.

Very well thought out

If it's not obvious, the grotlequin is supposed to be hiding behind an ork boy that's looking for him =)

Put in some work on my first jetbike.

At first I just glued the bike part, the turbine and the grav-flux bombard I looked at it with joy, as it was quite fine. But then I compared it to the actual skyweaver and I was 5cm off in length -_- So now I'm adding stuff =)
What's left is the shuriken / haywire canon, a spit for the glave wielding grot, the cover for the energy spark and maybe some bits here and there.

Oh man this has me chuckling! Love me some Grots, they are my fave fun character unit ever and it's because of stuff like this. Keep up the work and inspiration, I want to see more of this insanity

Spoken like a true greenskin.

Loving the conversions and all the work going into them Really unique but you can instantly tell they're grotlequins. Will the paint job be crude, colourful diamonds to match?

Thanks a lot for the kind words, you guys, I really appreiciate it and it works as a good motivator as well =)

Well my painting skills are quite subpar so even if I'm gonna go for neat and tidy diamonds I'm gonna fail miserably. Which is probably a good thing? Maybe? x)
As for the colour scheme im undecided as of now. The main colour of the suit and the shoulder and knee pads will most likely be akin to the Midnight Sorrow - black and yellow. The diamonds though are a whole different afair. On one hand I might go for ork chekers with white and red. On the other hand I might go full Midnight Sorrow. Not sure yet. I'll keep you posted =)

Made a third one. He's currently missing the jetpack, the belt and the shoulderpads and kneepads. But I wanted to upload straight away =)

I need to think up more poses now for my regular troupes though.

Made my first HQ, a shadowseer. Let me be the first one to admit, for a tabletop miniature on a 25mm base, I might have gone a little bit overboard with the details. This is the first and last micro diorama piece I'm gonna do for this army. Or so I tell myself =D

P.S.: as you can see bare gretchin hands are tough to come back x) Currently in a bidding war for the men gun crew.
