What are the nicest thing you've seen happen in 40k. Pure help, giving or some kind of quid quo pro. What is the nicest thing somebody gave and what is the most you have done.
A lot of quid quo pro,, got SW bitz, learned how to paoint, gave uo Cadia and kroot.
Rhe nicest thing I did was give my spot in a tourment to somebody who walked look game like I did earlier. He started his recond there with my loss, but we would both get our game that night.

I was chatting with one of the locals about his old school eldar army, nd brought up the point that I was one spider shy of getting my old metal warp spiders to the table. He had a spare primed one that he didn’t need and gave it to me.
Later on a newer GK player was asking about HQs. I payed it forward by giving him the one from the triumvirate of the imperium box that I had bought for Cypher/Guiliman.
I’m also fairly free with donating bits for wacky projects.
One of the locals at my last FLGS kitbashed special characters for all the regulars. Got myself a Xenos hating chaplain from that.

I mentioned in a thread that I'd love to see a release of a Crimson Fists transfer sheet released due to the price of them on Ebay. I got a PM a short time later from a user on here who offered me for free a fair old chunk of them, posted from Canada to the UK.

When I was getting into warhammer fantasy around 10 years ago I was given around 3000 points of high elves by someone I played 40k with semi-regularly.

There's usually a bunch of bits trading around for us. I've gotten and given a ton of second hand stuff over the years.

The most generous thing I've ever seen is someone just throw Mortarion into a sale for free, for free! They had decided on the sale (friend of mine was buying some DeathGuard stuff) but when they met to do the sale he just gave my mate Mortarion for free (I should also mention that my mate didn't know the guy he was doing the trade with).
My mate was half shocked and half annoyed since he'd bought Mortarion off someone else a few days earlier.

I told it somewhere here on Dakka. Many years ago after moving from house to house, and not playing more 40K for year I decided to sold my entire Black Templars army for simbolic 50€ to a friendo of my who was starting the game.
Now, lots of years after, he just came to my shop and said "Merry Christmas" and gave me my old LR Crusader in his original and still not opened box.

My gaming circle are very generous with each other. A friend mentioned starting a minas tirith army for the new Lotr game, I gave him two sprues of footmen. I picked my nurgle army up again four years after starting them, a different friend gave me the maggotkin book as he wasn't planning on doing them after all. I had some boxes of terrain I knew I'd never use, so I told them what I had and gave them to better homes. I've saved a small fortune in bits purchases by asking them first, and saved them a small fortune in return. Never done with any expectation of getting anything back, but it always seems to work out that everyone breaks even.

Oozing Plague Marine Terminator

I've been given some cool kits and built models over the years.
Turned a Dark Angels Land raider into the Morbid Trophy of the Death Guard.
Recently, after my own downsizing, I've donated a bunch of my own stuff to my local shop. Snap fit Marines to use for demos, old codexes, painted and unpainted units I don't use anymore.
I cant quite put a value on any of this stuff, so I rather just give it away instead.

You know... I've always been a fairly nice guy and it hasn't ever paid off. You just get walked on.
Gave a dude an Ork army after their 7th Ed codex fiasco. Taught him how to paint. He was boffing my fiance. So I beat the tar out of him. Now when he sees me he clears out pretty fast. It's kind of satisfying. Steelh Rhhain mofo! I played SM at the time.
Just gave a friend a DG army as a thank you for a bit of help he had given me. Played 2 games all year so far and he hasn't painted anything despite being very excited about the hobby. He isn't boffing my fiance since now I'm single as hell, but he always gets the chicks. Probably because my World Eaters army is on display while his DG are tucked safely in a closet. Probably a joke there but I'm not touching it.
Oh well. I think I'm getting to the point where if I found a talking frog that was actually a beautiful princess to be freed with a kiss, I'd rather have a talking frog.
Besides, being nice is selfish. You just do it cuz it feels good.

I’ve helped make and donated several pieces of terrain to local game stores over the years.
I’ve likewise helped two individuals get their start into 40K by buying their starting armies for them.
I do so because for many years while I was growing up I was in the situation where such niceties were beyond my own reach and it was likewise only the generosity of others that I got my first few model sets for the game.
