Hi all,

Hoping someone can help out a new user. Trying to deal with an Imperial Guard army that runs three Leman russ tanks and three units of Scions with meltas. One of the leman russ tanks is Pask and the other is a commander.

Every time I go up against this army I get wiped out. I even tried running two Lasscannon Preds but I just get destroyed.

Any tips would be greatly appreciated

Thanks!

Do you have any birdygoatmen? I'd recommend every Sons player have at least 20 in their army. Give them a brayhorn and either DS them in turn 2 or hide them t1 and use dark crystal to DS them turn 1. They can wrap up a lot of units, shred scions, and stop tanks from shooting. If you use votlw on them, they will also do some nice damage on a Russ.

Daemon Prince with Diabolic strength and claws, using votlw (seeing a pattern here? ), you should do 8.6 damage.

Your army is the best in the game at smiting, every caster should be smiting, then using whatever powers you want only after you've done your raw damage. Against lots of high value targets like scions and russes, they are all the more important. Aim for at 10+ power casts in your army.

Finally, groups of 9 enlightened are nice - spears with warptime give you a nailed-on charge t1, or bows drop lots of wounds on everything. Run them with a Shaman and presience to give them auto-wound on 4+ hits.

Finally, as cool as they are, Rubrics should be taken in groups of 5 to maximise your casting, and Scarab Termies are middle of the road, don't ever take more than one squad imo.

I always use Tzaangors but only in a unit of 10. The problem with charging is the Imperial Guard have a stratagem they can use to fire overwatch on a 5+. Guess that's the risk you take!

Never even crossed my mind about enlightened. A trip to GW is needed I think.

Thanks for the help man!! Definitely gonna give these tactics a go

Just FYI, using VOTLW on a Daemon Prince is illegal.
