I’ve had a lot of success running a variant of this list at 1500 in local tourneys. Taking it up to 2k for some bigger points levels that things are being run out lately. There’s a heavy emphasis on mortal wounds and psychic powers, as well as moving across the board quickly. Ideally I’m in the opponent’s zone assaulting turn 1 with the most dangerous threat already neutralized.

The Neurothrope gets Catalyst, Zoanthropes have Onslaught, Tyrant has Horror/Scream and Maleceptor has Scream.
Depending on if I get first turn, sporocysts drop down on objectives or in good fire lanes where they can drop spores. All the artillery sticks with the malanthrope with termagants and rippers keeping off the assaulters and deepstrikes. The Tyrant is usually the Warlord, if only to bait out more shots on him instead of something less survivable. Stealers get double advanced, the Malanthrope double moves, the Hive Guard get onslaught, and after Kraken advance rolls everything should be in range for assaults and psychic powers.
