How hard would it be to do? I have tons of old Mariene bits to use but ive noticed that other then devastators classic marienes arent used as much anymore (I use dark angels) and from pics primarus marienes seem similar to classic just longer limbs and different weapons witch look similar enough to the classics i can convert custom versions pretty easy.

So do you just want to scale up the old marines to the same size as Primaris ie. Truescale, or do you wish to do a full conversion of the old armour marks into mark X suits aswell?

If Truescale then there are plenty of tutorials available. However converting older (Mark 6 and Mark 7) armour into the new Tacticus/Gravis/Riever will take a great deal more modification as very little of the older armour marks can be seen on the newer stuff.

I'm focused more on the scale then all the fancy details but id still want to be able to differentiate primarus from regular guys though that link is very helpful didnt notice half that suff.

You'd have an easier time looking for Truescale conversions then it seems. Any difficulty will most likely be a result of the materials you'll be working with (any metal marines may not be worth the hassle to convert to Truescale)

One of the reasons im so glad I have so few metal marienes i think i have a techmariene and an apothecary and thats it besides a few characters that love falling apart and i eventually gave up on. but thanks for the help and ill look truescale up

Traditionally truescaling (cutting limbs and addin material) a whole army would take so much effort that at least I could never finish it I recently came across this: http://betweenthebolterandme.blogspot.com/2018/02/the-unforgiven-true-scale-dark-angels.html It looks like giving bolters and other traditional guns to primaris marines is pretty straightforward. Shoulderpads, backpacks and (non-mk6) helmets are compatible. And you can even shave down those plates above the knees for a more mk7 look. I'm not sure how the arm length compares and if you could just give them heavy weapons from Devastator kit, but I imagine it shouldn't be that difficult. I think these guys look really good, with the primaris scale and the better looking helmets, guns and backpacks from mk7 kits. I might end up assembling a kill team sized posse some time in the future!

I'm not really looking for truescale regular marienes but turning regular marienes into primarus witch is a similar process as truescalling from what i understand but im trying to limit amount of new material I have to buy for this army as i dont have a huge budgit

the chopping and adding part actually seems fun as i'll have more flexable poses biggest issue I see now is the weapons but hell blasters look like fancy plasmas and the intersessor rifles fancy bolt rifles so id just convert some of my extra plasma and bolters to be a bit bulkier and hi tech
