I'm coming back into the game after a delay causing me to miss 7th edition entirely. Back in 6th edition this was a "2000 points, nothing with an armor value" list, and I've added the sentinel simply because I don't have any other of the Fast Attack models. And nothing's got AV anyway, so the tagline doesn't work anymore.

Anyhow, this is a gunline with a few tricks. I'm starting at 16 Command Points, but spending at least one to give the Dagger to one of the commanders. I might spend two more to give the Laurels to Creed, depending on how useful it is.

I start deployment by putting 8 units in reserve (two riders, two tempestus command squads & two primes, commander with Dagger of Deep Strike takes a command squad), which fairly definitely gives my opponent a +1 to go first but in exchange I can pretty much look at his fully-deployed army before putting down my units. I've got the Rough Riders with meltaguns coming in from an edge, three plas/melta squads deep-striking in with four Voice of Commands among them. Eighty guardsmen plus thirty-three heavy weapons as my centerline, ratlings to snipe, and if they get close? Four vets with plasma guns and two special weapon squads with dual flamers & a demo charge. Lots of one-trick ponies, but they're pretty good tricks.

I got used to being tabled by turn 4, back in 6th edition. I hope to avoid that, and would like to keep the "all infantry" theme by replacing the sentinel with more rough riders, but I've have to find a few points somewhere and I don't know if it's worth it.

And while I bought each heavy weapons team as "three of this gun" to make the points simple, I'd very likely mix the (non-mortar) weapons up now that they can all choose separate targets, so that my opponent can't wipe out three missile launchers with one squad - they'd wipe out e.g. a heavy bolter, an autocannon and a missile launcher.

Thoughts? Suggestions?

Well, first of all, creed cannot be given laurels (named characters cant have relics). Otherwise, I like your list with infantry. In this edition, gunline armies have trouble with alpha strikes, although beta rules are on our side. Have you considered adding artillery?

You're also breaking the Rule of 3 on a few occasions.
