Not posted pics in ages, starting a new blog in the hope I'll take a few more..

First up we have an ork battle wagon, still in progress as the weathering isn't finished and won't be until I get the other parts done, but serviceable now

Colours are Blood Axe in the dusty desert, VMC Desert Yellow is the base

Sepia wash over, drybrush the base colour. Rusty areas are the VMA "Rust" colour, drybrushed the GW dry rust colour then a bit of silver

quite a busy model, assembled and painted in parts - so much easier to stick the tracks and wheels on after painting them.

next up, Death Guard

Went with a lighter green scheme as I just like it more, this is VGC "Pastel Green" cut 50/50 with "Dead White", thinned then airbrushed on as a base

Pox Walkers, so far all of the Death Guard stuff has a fair way to go, need the tentacles finishing to start with

Marines!

These guys are my own chapter, the Tiosen Rifles, modified from a few years back as the old GW colours no longer exist, this is Black Green highlighted Flat Green then Light Green.

Golds and Silvers are GW, the White is a 50/50 of "Sky Grey" and "Dead White", highlighted Dead White over a Celestra grey/black wash base

built the character as a chapter champion as I have a fair few officers already from DI and a second lot of them coming at some point.

Currently waiting chapter and tactical markings, the red knee pad gains a squad marking at some point (Roman numeral)

All the bases are pretty plain as I've yet to work out what I want to do with them so went for basic but tidy.

Those marines look very nice, and i like that color scheme a lot. I also like how you are handling the tentacles and oozy bits of the poxwalkers, a neat change from the norm so far.

realism is a lie

tentacles etc are part done, based on a GW video so far,

white flesh, flesh shade over, skin is drybrushed "Elf Fleshtone" after, it will get a bit of green and purple wash (which I don't own currently)

tentacles are currently a mix, some ar Bugmans Glow, some are VGC "Tan" which seems essentially the same colour, purple wash needed then highlight the base and then base with a bit of white added - trying to keep them simple.

Marines are an evolution of this

which is pure GW colours from some time ago, the green is a bit more intense and slightly darker, highlight is less vivid and seems to work a lot better.

Still have the older ones somewhere, think they will work alongside each other if needed
