If you are going for such a small unit is definitely include primaris. I recently played a friend with my 5 man intercessor kill team death watch against his veterans death watch and my guys hammered him from range with bolt rifles.

I'm more about playing for fun than just to win. I see the benefit of taking Primaris, but the increased cost means losing the death Watch weapons, which is of course the main reason to take death Watch.

The cover, wounding, and injury rules make Primaris some of the most durable line units available in Kill Team. Realistically only the big monster from the Gellerpox, and Rubrics are tougher.

Combine with the exceptional range on their guns, innate AP and the hilarity that is SIA and in most cases a Primaris team wont feel the loss of Frags or Combis for a moment. Bolt Rifles with SIA are easily one of the best guns in the game.

That's cool and all, though I'd rather play out a characters story than have 5 faceless identical guys all doing the same thing, just to win a game.

I can lose but still enjoy myself

The Twilight Zone

One thing to consider is making your comms guy a different specialist. Comms is not able to buff themselves, so unless they are going to camp nearby your infernus they won't contribute that much. One option would be going heavy so they can run and gun with the frag cannon.

Also a shame the infernus cant use SIA, it is still a decent weapon though.

The most important rule of 40K-Page XVII of the 6th edition rulebook, the figure at the top right of the page. "Shake hands with your opponent and thank them for a good battle and fun experience." Then go out for a beer.

Who said anything about faceless and identical? Each Primaris Marine in a Kill Team is going to have an absolutely unique role, which easily lends itself to personalization and storytelling.

Most of the baseline gear is going to be the same, but their specialist and fire team roles, as well as how you choose to play them makes them far more than mooks on a board.

For instance, my Intercessor Sergeant Combat specialist is something of a fable at my LGS after he tanked a Cleaver and a Flail, then took both zombie-boyos out in retaliation, and kept on charging.

I did. From a visual perspective, each model would be carrying identical equipment and play out exactly the same way. I get what you're saying but there still wouldn't be enough flavour for me compared to a kill team in which each character has their own unique role AND equipment. Best of both worlds.

Cool story re your ISCS, though nothing to say that a regular Marine can't achieve the same (albeit the extra wound and attack plays an obviously beneficial role in your favour).

But yeah, for me, gimme that lovely DW equipment that you can't get anywhere else in the game at all.

I will be adding Primaris to the KT as time goes on, though from a modelling perspective it equally just makes to use what I've got to start with, given that I just bought the KT Mordelai expansion
