Hello, I am new to this site and I am just getting into the Warhammer 40k although I have been reading the lore and a few novels for a good bit.
I've decided my first army with be Salamanders and was hoping to get advice on a good starter army and possibly some general advice for painting an modeling.
One interesting thing is that my local area is filled with Xenos Players and their actually very few Marine or Imperium Player so it has been a bit harder to get advice for playing Space Marines.
I want to play a more fluff friendly but decently competitive army, and any advice you can give is appreciated.

Be welcome to Dakka and welcome to the hobby and the Imperium.
One good option for learning is watching Battlereports.. I recommend you Tabletop Tactics and Winter Seo.

Hi,

Welcome to Dakka
