Attempting to sculpt marble bases using polymer clay. Wondering if it can be polished in such a way as to get a reflection off of it? Or should I choose a different material?

Or just say to hell with it and use actual marble?

Needs to be smooth, like wicked smooth.
Gloss finish and you're good!... probably. Try out a tester. Mix your marble pattern, roll with a roller for max smoothiocity, gloss finish for shine. Future floor polish is a fantastic gloss and easy to use.

Well apparently it is possible to polish and buff the gak out of polymer clay.

should be simple if you are just making a slab to break up for a base. probably much harder for like a statue or something.

There are also a lot of ways to get a marble like effect with various spray paints too.
