On the 22nd of december I have a small 1k toruney at my local store and I want to take my Deathwatch with me!

RN Im still trying to come up with a list.
This is what Ive come up with for now:


If my calculations are correct this list with the CA drops should be 1005points. Would have to drop 5points somewhere.
Id like to hear your opinions on it.

I’ll definitely be facing Knights again but also Drukhari (won the last tournament), Admech, Necrons, Guard...

All the stuff of Deathwatch I have is:
2x start collecting (20vets, 2 artemis, 2 VenDreads with TwinLas and Fist)
2x Librarian
1x converted TH Cap.
1x Box of intercessors
6x Aggressors
1x box of hellblasters
3x Reivers

Any help recommended.

Just seen your post, how did your list work for you. I'm working on a 1000 point list for a tournament in March, and was going to use DW.

It was actually quite nice. Drew against a Knight list (some bad dice rolls for active
objectives). But lost to Dark Eldar and Admech mobile Kastelan Robots.

In every game I had some moments were the dice betrayed me (Smash Cap rolling 5 2s for hits, failing a 5“ charge with reroll, some bad dice overall). Still I wouldnt say I lost/drew those games due to bad dice. It was probably mostly bad play on my side. I lost my biker unit too quickly and they had almost 0 impact for me but I do believe they can be quite good if used properly. The Stalker Pattern Combat Squad didnt do anything important either but that was mainly because they were lacking the correct target. Then again we played maelstrom missions and unfortunately I never drew the „secure obj. X“ cards where my combat squad and scouts were positioned.

As soon as the main squad dropped with the Watchmaster it did alot of damage. It was even very deadly in overwatch. But this is also something I would change or a good 40k player would do better. It kind of hurt that I had to wait until turn 2 to do something. A good player would have a solution for that or maybe change up the KillTeams a bit. Id definitely use more Storm Shields and Storm Bolters on one Team and go all in on the other for frag canons. Im still not sure about Veterans with plasma. I actually tried a list with hellblasters in a Fortis KillTeam before this list but I wasnt satisfied with it either.

Sadly due to my matchups my Terminators were almost useless and I would have wished for more Storm Shields.

Also because we had a special stratagem (because it was the last tourney of the year and we all had to wear chrismas hats) were we could move a single character wherever we want on the board for 1 CP, I didnt really utilize the psychic powers of my librarian (specifically: MoH on the SmashCap)

In the end Id say this list is pretty good against a Knights list. With a bit more luck and better skill on my side I maybe could have won the first game and the second one. The 3rd one was against the mobile Kastelans. We agreed beforehand to not use the special stratagems. Failing the charge with my SmashCap didnt help in any way. The Kastelans are just an infantry killer and therefore a hard counter to this list.
