What do you think? Yes or no?
As someone who’d love to get some Half Life closure, I’m tempted to say yes, but with my sensible hat on, it would probably be a no. I mean, you’d have to change a lot to get it to work for tv, and so much so, the end result might not even be half life anymore.
Plus there’s already a tv show called Half Life, which would probably complicate things.

The trick is to stop caring at all about half life. It was a good game back in the day and then the company took forever to make a sequel that didnt have an ending and by the time we get a 3rd we will all be dead.

These are my opinions. This is how I feel. Others may feel differently. This needs to be stated for some reason.

I think it would just be tough to do a series with a mute protagonist.

agreed, it's been so long that any form of conclusion will be met with, at best, indifference

Interesting thought, what story do you thinks needs telling in this tv series, and what advantage would the 'half life' universe setting give over a generic sci-fi setting?

With the Epic Games store taking a run at Steam, and publisher distribution platforms cropping up left and right, I wouldn't be surprised if Valve were to push hard on it's most beloved IP.

Without HL3 an HL series is a non-starter, it's target audience would be far too angry about the nonexistence of HL3 to consider an HL series anything other than a slap in the face.

Life does not cease to be funny when people die any more than it ceases to be serious when people laugh. |

Someone associated with the game went ahead and posted a 'spoiler' about how the game was 'supposed' to end, so that's out there if you're curious!

The story that springs to my mind is the contrast of peace in servitude or fighting for freedom, sacrifices for the greater good etc. I know that these aren't very original, but I also think that the simplest stories are the best. Besides, novels get adapted to tv shows...why not games?
And I suppose that the advantage of the Half Life setting is that a large section of people know what it is.

Ah yes, I've read about that! That would form the basis of the final series.
But yeah, like others said, a tv show would be like a slap in the face to the fans...plus, Gordon would have to talk...and the back draft from that would be...considerable.
That's an issue really. So much would have to be changed, you would have to wonder if it's worth it.
