Hi all,

I have added a Tyrannofex to my Tyranids and magnetised it accordingly for all weapons plus to use as a tervigon. Those big guns are going to bash against the model however and I envisage it scratching the crap out of my model.

As such, I'm thinking of using a clear coat but have no experience outside of 20 years ago. In short, I don't want it shiny as it won't match the other models so does anyone know if a matte coat over a gloss coat would remove the shine?

Assuming of course there is not a product that sprays matte but offered great protection.

Yes, matte over gloss will give you matte. I believe its mainly a fallacy that gloss provides more protection than a matte though. Why not just convert the arms a little so they don't foul on the model? It will probably look better that way too.

The tervigon arms are fine, it's the 2 handed guns that cause the biggest issue as the plastic on them appears different - it has a lot less flex than the previous and doesn't bend under the usual amount of heat. As such, where they socket into the arms, they drag against the model until they fit in.

Ah yeah I understand. Maybe seperate the hand holding the gun and mag that too?
