With all the units available through GW and FW (and unmade units in the fluff I'm unaware of), what does a force of Custodes look like on the approximate 2000 points and just a bit greater scale look like? I don't know much about 30K or how its done, but I'd imagine that the Custodes haven't changed their tactics too much, so what did they do back then, as well?

Ok non joke wise most I've seen are 1 battalion. So 3 of the gardians then the vexlus preator thing a shield captain if possible in allarus but if they have had less points spare cheaper options. Then the speeders and 1 allarus to kill enemy characters.
I don't play custodes this is only what I've noticed.

Fluff-wise, not much to say. Custodes are so elite that for the past 10k years they have only sent out 1-2 guys out to handle situations.


If I was gonna build a pure custodies force at 2k points I'd take 2 battalions though.

bat1:

2 biker captains (warlord with auric aquillus and second with eagle eye)

3x3 squads guard (1 with sword and board in each)

1 vexilla (with axe and magnifica)

bat2:

2 shield captains with axe's

3x3 guard squads (1 with sword and board in each)


This gives you 362 points to play with.

You can take a squad of dawneagles, 2 of the dreadnoughts, mabey a big grav tank to carry your foot troops, or even some of the new terminators with 12" flamers.
