Brothers and sisters I need some help. I'm painting Death Guard and on the gold accent pieces I can't decide whether to use metal flake, or gold nmm. I want it to remain muted and I don't want the gold to draw the eye, but I do appreciate the look the gold accent pieces give the model. WIP model below - soon to be goldish pieces are based in brown on the armor. All ideas/thought/opinions welcome. Thanks!

Have you ever tried liquid metal from Vallejo? It's a little hard to work with, but the effect is stunning.

If you don't want it to stand out, then I'd use a tmm technique using metallic colours, as nmm uses high contrasts and naturally stands out more. Plus it's easier to dull tmm using glazes and weathering.

Are you guys talking about real gold? or fake?

nmm usually looks better to me
