We're a bit far north of you, but if you go on Facebook and search Bolters Con Queso, you'll find the Local Albuquerque group. We also have a small game store that recently opened in Socorro, which is about half way between Albuquerque and Las Cruses.

My buddy just moved to Las Cruces a couple of months ago and is pretty active in the the 40K group there. He said they have a Facebook group to check out if you want to meet up with some other players (he's not on Dakka)
